Elizabethton Campus Frequently Asked Questions


Q: What classes do you offer?

A: Day and evening courses are offered at the Northeast State at Elizabethton campus. The site offers a variety of courses in liberal arts, technical and continuing education programs.

Q: Is advisement available at the site?

A: Each student is assigned a faculty advisor based upon his or her major. Advisement services at the Elizabethton site are provided student success staff and by staff from the main campus at select days and hours each term. Students needing academic assistance are encouraged to seek advisement from their assigned advisor. Students may call 423.323.0229 if they are unsure of their advisor's name and/or office phone number.

Q: Can I buy books at the site?

A: Books for classes taught in Elizabethton are provided through the bookstore at Northeast State's main campus or online at the Bookstore.

Q: Are Library services available?

A: The Student Resource Center at the Elizabethton site is linked to the library on the main campus via an automated system and offers access to the online catalog, the Internet and a variety of full-text databases.

Q: Does the site have open computer lab time scheduled?

A: A designated open computer lab is available during regular business hours and availability is based on the number of occupants utilizing the service at any given time. All computer labs are available for open student use when not occupied by regularly scheduled classes. In addition, course software, and Internet access, including access to Northeast State's main campus Library, is available in the labs. Microsoft Office 365 software is accessible in the Learning Resource Center.

Q: Can I register for classes at the site?

A: Students may register, drop/add classes, review billing information, etc., at the site by using the MyNortheast system via Northeast State's home page.

Q: Are student support services available?

A: Students attending the Elizabethton site are afforded the same student support services as students attending at the main campus. These services are provided by personnel working onsite and also by Northeast State staff from the main campus who visit the site on a regularly scheduled or as-needed basis. Specific dates and times are posted at the site. Additional information may be obtained by visiting the Elizabethton site's administrative office or by contacting Student Support Services or Advising Resource Center for further details.

Q: What are your operating hours of the Elizabethton site?

A: Administrative office hours when classes are in session during the Fall and Spring semesters are Monday and Tuesday, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During the Summer semester the administrative office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
