Northeast State is committed to supporting student success by offering free tutoring services throughout the fall semester. Whether you prefer meeting in person or connecting online, we have flexible options to fit your needs.

Cost:

Tutoring services are provided at no additional cost to all Northeast State students.

Appointments

How to Schedule a Tutoring Appointment

To request an online or in-person tutoring session, please email TLC@NortheastState.edu. In your message, be sure to include the following information to help us schedule your appointment efficiently:

• Your full name
• Your student ID number (900######), if possible
• Course number or title
• Instructor’s name, if known
• Session preference: in-person, online, or either
• A brief description of the assignment or subject matter you need help with
• The best phone number to reach you
• Your availability: list days and times that work well for you

Once we receive your request, we will respond by email with an appointment time or additional information. Please note that we will reply to the same email address from which you contacted us.

Assignments

Submitting Assignments for Tutoring Feedback

If you are requesting feedback on a writing assignment or research paper, please include the following:

• A draft of your writing assignment or research paper, preferably as a Word document
• A copy of the assignment description provided by your instructor
• A grading rubric, if one was provided

We strive to return feedback within a few hours. However, response times may vary depending on staffing availability. To ensure you receive feedback in time, please allow up to two business days when planning your writing schedule.

Need Help with Math or Science?
If you're seeking assistance with math or science problems, you may find it helpful to include:

• A screenshot of the specific problems you need help with
• Or, copy and paste the problems directly into your email

Alternatively, you can wait to discuss the problems during your scheduled tutoring session.

Additional Tutoring

TLC is also partnering with Tutor.com, which will allow you to supplement our TLC services.  This can be especially helpful if you need assistance with a specialized subject or during hours when TLC tutors are unavailable.  This Tutor.com service is available 24/7.  If you wish to contact Tutor.com, look for the link in the D2L course for which you need help.  (It will appear in the upper right corner of the course D2L page.)  This service does not require appointments.

Additional Tutoring Hours

Occasionally, extra tutoring hours may become available due to changes in tutor schedules. To inquire about possible additional availability, please email TLC@NortheastState.edu.
