Northeast State Community College - We're here to get you there
Career-Academy.png

The Career Academy encompasses dual enrollment and dual credit—it is program focused, following a specific curricular pattern with an expected credential outcome of a Technical Certificate.

Students enrolled in a Northeast State Career Academy option have the opportunity to begin earning college credit their junior year of high school in a chosen program of study. Students will continue in the program throughout their junior and senior years to earn a college certificate by the time they graduate high school! A Northeast State certificate gives students a workforce credential, as well as a jump start on their college education. Most certificate programs are completely embedded within an Associate of Applied Science degree program at Northeast State, so students who successfully earn a certificate may lack only one year in completing a degree!

Most Career Academy students take classes along with a group of other students from their high school. The classes are offered either at the high school, a Northeast State campus, or online. Each high school or LEA will determine which program(s) to offer.

To participate, students must be enrolled at a high school that offers a Career Academy option. Students must receive approval from their high school CTE principal to enroll, as well as complete all Northeast State dual enrollment admission requirements.
