Because of You Campaign

 

Because of You is an annual scholarship fundraising event sponsored by the Northeast State Foundation.

The goal of the Because of You Campaign is to raise scholarship money for Northeast State students. All funds raised by events and sales during the campaign are used for Northeast State student scholarships.

The following are the events and sales in the 2023 Because of You Campaign. This year's campaign kicks off on September 25, 2023.

Because of You Shirts

2023 Because of You shirt samples

BOYC shirts are now on sale. Short-sleeved shirts (Small - 4X) are $15 and long-sleeved shirts (Small - 3X) are $20 each with proceeds benefiting Northeast State Scholarships.

Shirt samples are available in the Alumni Office (C2415A) and the Scholarship Programs Office (C2113).  Cash and checks will be accepted in the Alumni Office (C2415A), Scholarship Programs Office (C2113), and Advancement Office (P307B).

Credit/debit payments can be made through the Upay/TouchNet System.

Choose "Other" under gift designation, write "BOYC Shirt" in the comments section, and then select the "Submit to Secure Site" button to enter payment information.

Take It & Make It Crafting

Take It & Make It Craft suppliesCalling all crafters!

Do you knit or crochet? Do embroidery or carving? Sculpt or paint? Make jewelry or ornaments or arrangements? Whatever your craft, the Bear Bucks Marketplace would love for you to consider donating an item (or two) for sale during the Because of You Campaign, which will be held Sept. 25 through Oct. 6. Showcase your talents and passion while supporting Student Needs Programs. 

Craft supplies are available in the Library, room L315, during open hours. Come by and see if there is anything that inspires you. Take the supplies home and make creative, fun, and beautiful crafts.

Completed crafts can be taken to the Career Services Office (C2418) beginning Sept. 7 through Sept. 22.

Tie-Dye Parties

tie-dye-shirt-sample-because-of-you.jpgThe deadline to purchase a t-shirt and register for the drop-in BOYC Tie Dye party is Sept. 20.

The shirts are white with a black Northeast State Community College logo on the front.

Cash and checks will be accepted in the Scholarship Programs Office (C2113), Alumni Office (2415A), or Advancement Office (P307B). Credit card payments may be made online. A separate form is required for each shirt ordered.

Scholars Attic Rummage Sale

The Northeast State Scholars Foundation is seeking donations for its annual rummage sale.

If you have new or gently used items you would like to donate to the club, please contact Erin Blevins at 423.354.2507 or Scholarships@NortheastState.edu to schedule a drop off time.

Donations will be accepted Aug. 30 through Sept. 18.

These items will not be accepted:

  • Cribs/Car Seats/Strollers
  • Encyclopedias/Magazines
  • Chemical Products
  • Recalled Items
  • Mattresses/Box Springs
  • Projection/Console Televisions
  • Soiled/Broken/Ripped Items

Sale information

The Attic Sale is open the public from September 25 to 29 and will be located in the Blountville campus library, room L226. The sale will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Cash, checks, and credit cards will be accepted. Items must be removed when purchased.

Northeast State's Got Talent!

Northeast State's Got Talent!The Northeast State's Got Talent virtual talent competition is a free contest for students, staff, and the community to show off their talents!

Contestants entered by uploading a clip of their talent to Youtube. When voting begins you can visit the Northeast State Foundation donation page and make a donation for your favorite clip (or clips)!

Each vote is $1 and you can vote as many times as like. If you donate $10, that will equal 10 votes for your favorite video.

Voting will begin once all entries are submitted. The video with the most votes at the end of the contest will be declared the winner!

All proceeds will benefit the Performing Arts Annual Scholarship for the Music & Choral Program.

Door Decorating Contest

Because of You Door Decorating ContestIf you are interested in participating in the door decorating contest, please email Josh Johnson at JAJohnson@NortheastState.edu by Sept. 21. Doors must be decorated by Sept. 25.

Categories are Most School Spirit, Best Theme, Most Creative, and Fan Favorite.

The proceeds from these auctions will benefit the Patricia A. Chandler Endowed Scholarship for student veterans, military service members or dependents and the Emergency Assistance program for our military affiliated students.
