Northeast has the best students — plain and simple.

I’ve taught at different universities and colleges, and I unite here because the program is so good. We teach our students how to be nurses — how to be excellent nurses.

Let’s face it, our generation is growing older, and the people I’m teaching will be taking care of me in the hospital. That’s why it’s important that they know what they’re doing.

I went to clinical with a group of students yesterday, and one of the nurses said, “Oh yeah, you know what? I love rookie students.” That made my heart happy because it shows that people in the community recognize we have a program worth coming to — a program that produces excellent nurses.

As an RN, I feel that Northeast State Community College provides students with an excellent nursing education. We have instructors who truly work with the students. They get hands-on experience and develop the skills they’ll need to become registered nurses.

What I like about being a student here at Northeast State is the class size — especially in the nursing program. We might have 70 students, but they split us into small groups so you really get to connect with the instructors one-on-one. You have more time to ask questions, and you don’t feel rushed. Plus, you get to meet other students.

Hi, my name is Am Elam. I’ve been an LPN for seven years, and I decided to go back to school to become an RN. I made that decision because I wanted to create a better life for myself, my baby, and my family.

I chose Northeast State because I had relatives who attended this college and had a really good experience.

Hi, my name is Molly Osborn. I went to Dobyns-Bennett High School and decided to come to Northeast State to stay close to home. I want to become an RN, and I’m through the extended program so far — it’s going really great. My teachers really seem to care, so it’s been a good experience.

If you’re interested in the nursing program here at Northeast State, then we have something in common.

My name is Erin Summer. I’m an educator in the nursing faculty at Northeast State. I love what I do. I’ve been a nurse for 14 years, worked in three states, and earned four different degrees. I love nursing, and I love to teach.
