Proficiency Profile/Exit Exam Testing

Exit Exam Giveaway

Exit Exam prize giveaway

Take the Exit Exam and you'll be entered to win a gift package from Northeast State Alumni valued at $75! One winner will be chosen each semester.

IMPORTANT: The Exit Exam is closed for summer graduates and will start again in mid-September for fall graduates.

The Proficiency Profile/Exit Exam is for graduates earning an A.A.S., A.S. or A.A. degree. Students are encouraged to do their best, as the results guide the College’s planning efforts. Students receiving a certificate degree or that already have a degree do not take the exam.

The exam focuses on the overall academic skills students have developed through the general education curriculum rather than measuring knowledge in specific subjects. The exam is divided into three components: humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Each area will test your college-level writing, college-level, reading, critical thinking, and mathematics skills.

This online exam takes two hours as it consists of two sections; 60 minutes each. It is all multiple-choice questions. A simple calculator, scratch paper, and a pencil will be provided by the testing staff.

Score results are available at the end of the exam. Students may print a copy for their own records.

For questions about the test or testing dates -Call 423.354.5358 or email testing@NortheastState.edu. Office Hours: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Late afternoon and Saturday testing times will be offered throughout the semester.

Students must first submit a graduation application prior to scheduling the exam.
