Financial Aid
The 2025–26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form will be available to the public on Dec. 1, 2024. We encourage all students planning to attend in Fall 2025, to fill out the 25-26 FAFSA beginning December 1, 2024.
Go to www.StudentAid.gov to complete your 25-26 FAFSA.
If you would like help completing your FAFSA, stop by Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM; call 423-323-0252 or email the Financial Aid Office at FinancialAid@NortheastState.edu.
Please note: If you plan to enroll for Spring or Summer 2025, and have not already done so, please complete a 24-25 FAFSA.

Through Tennessee Promise, graduating high school seniors who meet and maintain eligibility criteria can earn an associate degree or certificate free of tuition and mandatory fees.

Financial Aid FormsFederal Work-Study Program
The Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program offers students an opportunity to earn money to help pay college costs, as well as living expenses while they are in school. Students have an opportunity to integrate their classroom education with actual work experience and develop the knowledge and skills they will need to succeed in future employment. Campus employers have the flexibility to work around class schedules and often serve as references for future graduates as they enter the workforce.

Federal Work-Study ProgramSatisfactory Academic Progress
Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is a set of standards that measure academic progress to ensure financial aid recipients are making measurable progress toward completion of a degree or certificate program. Students are required to meet satisfactory academic standards established by Northeast State to receive financial aid and maintain continued eligibility.

The financial aid process takes time, so start right away. Financial aid funds are often limited, so it is important that you apply early. Though we continue to award financial aid throughout the year, the students who apply early usually receive larger grant awards.
Please read all of the information you receive from the Financial Aid Office. If we request information from you, return it quickly as failure to do so may result in delays in your financial aid. Should you have questions about anything we send you, please call us so we can address your concerns.
