Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship (TELS)

In an effort to keep our students informed, we are providing the following information regarding the Tennessee education lottery scholarship program. Please be aware that these guidelines may be changed by the state of Tennessee.

The Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship (TELS) Program is funded by lottery revenues and administered by the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC). To be considered for the Lottery Scholarship, a student must complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); no additional application is required. The FAFSA application is available online at www.StudentAid.gov. The TELS program is open to qualifying Tennessee residents who meet the eligibility requirements listed at www.TN.gov/CollegePays.

Students Must Reapply Every Year!

The student must complete a FAFSA every year in order to be considered for the TELS award. The process of completing a new or renewal FAFSA can be done online at www.StudentAid.gov. The Department of Education must receive and process the FAFSA application by the September 1 deadline for students beginning in the Fall semester; February 1 for Spring semester.
