Northeast State Community College offers certificate programs and associate degrees that may lead to professional licensure and/or certification required for employment in Tennessee. Requirements for licensure and certification in other states —as well as other requirements for eligibility of employment—may vary. Consequently, completion of a Northeast State certificate program or degree program may not meet requirements in other U.S. states or territories. Students should be aware that licensing and certifying authorities for each state and territory establish and enforce their own requirements and standards, which are always subject to change.
Students who currently live in a state other than Tennessee or intend to move to a state other than Tennessee—and who plan to use the training and education completed at Northeast State to seek professional licensure or certification in that state—should be aware there may be additional requirements for obtaining licensure or certification. While Northeast State provides information to assist with these determinations, students should contact the appropriate licensing or certifying agency in the relevant state regarding the specific requirements. Making these inquiries will enable students to obtain the most up-to-date information about a state’s licensure and certification requirements.
Students may also contact the relevant Northeast State faculty member to obtain information and details about a certificate program or degree program. This information can be found in the College Catalog for the respective programs of study which can be accessed on our catalog page.
