Praxis Requirements

The Praxis Series tests are a requirement for many states and teaching licenses. These tests ensure teachers have the knowledge and skills they'll need in the classroom. There are two main Praxis exams: the Praxis Core, which tests basic reading, writing, and math skills, and the Praxis Subject Assessments, which test your knowledge of the specific subject you want to teach. If your ACT or SAT scores weren't high enough, you may need to take the Praxis Core. Aim to take the Praxis Core by the end of your freshman year of college, or upon transferring if you're a transfer student. It's best to have all Praxis tests passed before applying for your teaching residency.

Tennessee Transfer Path to UT/TBR four year universities in compliance with Complete College Tennessee Act of 2010.
