Career and Technical Education (CTE) dual enrollment gives high school students the opportunity to earn college credit in the career field of their choice! Students can take classes in subjects such as medical terminology, welding, programming, robotics, and cyber security. These courses not only allow students to earn college credit while in high school, but also to explore potential career pathways for the future! High school students in dual enrollment programs are afforded the same educational and  support services as all other students.

Students enrolled in CTE Dual Enrollment must have approval from their high school CTE principal to participate. Classes are offered at the high school, a Northeast State campus, or online. Interested students should contact the Northeast State Career and Technical Education office at 423.354.5198 or HSP@NortheastState.edu for more information about course availability and course prerequisite requirements.

Program Entrance Requirements

• Students must be currently enrolled in high school.
• Students must submit a Northeast State application for admission and provide a high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores if applicable. Please note: ACT or SAT scores are not required for all CTE dual enrollment courses.
• Courses must be chosen by the student in consultation with the high school counselor or principal (unless home-schooled) and the CTE dual enrollment administrator.
• Students in this program will complete all Northeast State admission requirements and program entrance requirements (with the exception of the high school diploma) as outlined below and prior to enrolling in college classes. Please follow the instructions and complete the forms listed below.
