Accessing support and resources is essential for individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, or other crimes. Northeast State Community College provides information on valuable community resources to assist those in need.

Domestic Violence Shelters

Domestic violence shelters offer temporary refuge and comprehensive support services for individuals fleeing abusive situations. Services may include shelter, counseling, advocacy, assistance with finding permanent housing and employment, and more. Women and children can stay for up to 30 days. Family Justice Centers

Family Justice Centers provide integrated services for victims of family violence. These centers house multidisciplinary teams of professionals who offer coordinated support, including advocacy, safety planning, legal assistance, medical services, and transportation aid

Sexual Assault Center of East Tennessee

The Sexual Assault Center of East Tennessee offers free advocacy and therapy services for survivors of sexual assault in Upper East Tennessee counties. Advocates work to protect survivors' legal rights, while therapists specialize in providing support to individuals of all genders and sexual orientations.

Tennessee Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund

The Tennessee Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund provides financial assistance to crime victims, including reimbursement for expenses related to sexual assault forensic examinations through the SAFE Program.

Tennessee Safe at Home Address Confidentiality Program

The Safe At Home Address Confidentiality Program, administered by the Office of the Tennessee Secretary of State, offers address confidentiality to victims of domestic abuse, stalking, human trafficking, and other crimes.

Tennessee SAVIN (Statewide Auotmated Victim Information Notification)

TN SAVIN provides timely information on the custody status of offenders in county jails, enhancing the safety of crime victims. Individuals can register anonymously for notifications.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

Immigrants who are victims of crime can access protections and assistance through federal laws. Contact USCIS for support and information on available immigration options for victims of crimes.
