Northeast State participates in TN eCampus, a cooperative online education initiative among Tennessee Board of Regents universities, community colleges, and colleges of applied technology. Established in 2001 under the name of the Regents Online Degree Program (RODP), the mission of the initiative was to provide Tennessee with access to high-quality, affordable, student-centered learning in an interactive asynchronous format (students do not meet with instructors). In 2015, the program’s name was changed to TN eCampus to more accurately reflect the depth and breadth of online education options offered by TBR institutions.
The online education offered through TN eCampus mirrors the education offered at physical campus locations. Credits earned are transferable among participating institutions. Faculty members delivering TN eCampus courses are hired by the participating institutions; the courses are approved through a curriculum committee structure; the degrees and certificates are granted by the participating institutions; and, the students are enrolled at one of the TBR institutions.
All participating universities and community colleges are regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) while several programs have both SACSCOC and program-specific accreditation status. The Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology are accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE).
TN eCampus courses are offered fully online with proctored exams when needed/required. A wide array of virtual support services (bookstore, library, tutoring) are offered to enhance the online learner’s experience. Technical support for accessing course modules and assignments is available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
Upon registering for an eCampus course, visit TN eCampus for course descriptions and the Academic Calendar. For additional information, contact the Advising Resource Center at 423.323.0214 or TNECampus@NortheastState.edu.
Before registering for an eCampus course, please read the following:
Registration for these courses occurs by using the Northeast State MyNortheast system just like any other Northeast State class. TN eCampus courses are designated in the “Look Up Classes“ by sections beginning with “R.” Please note: Be careful when choosing your TN eCampus class section. Section R50 is a full-semester class; Section R01 is an accelerated 7-week class beginning the first week of the semester and ending mid-semester; Section R25 is an accelerated 7-week class beginning mid-semester and ending at the end of the semester; Section R35 is a 10-week class beginning the fifth week after the start of the semester and ending at the end of the semester.
The last day to register for TN eCampus classes is the day before classes begin.
Go to the online bookstore and order textbooks as soon as possible in order to have textbooks before classes begin. NOTE: THE NORTHEAST STATE BOOKSTORE DOES NOT HAVE TN eCampus TEXTBOOKS AVAILABLE IN STOCK FOR PURCHASE.
Tuition and fees should be paid by the due date in order to avoid being purged/dropped from class(es). A BILL WILL NOT BE SENT THROUGH THE MAIL. Payments can be made through the Business Office. PLEASE NOTE: TN eCampus online course fees are non-refundable after classes begin. TN Promise and TN Reconnect programs do not cover the ONLINE FEE portion for TN eCampus courses. Tuition and fees for TN eCampus courses are somewhat higher than tuition and fees for Northeast State courses. Check current semester campus literature for the current tuition and fees rates.
Some TN eCampus courses require proctoring for mid-term and/or final exams. Tests and exam dates are set for each course at the beginning of the semester and are included in the course calendar. Students are responsible for scheduling proctoring arrangements well in advance of the exam as proctoring appointment times fill quickly. Options for testing may include virtual proctoring and proctoring at an alternative testing site.
